Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, inc. and PT Trans Media Corpora have announced a strategic partnership to launch CNN Indonesia, a 24-hour news channel and accompanying website in Bahasa Indonesia. CNN Indonesia currently has the following openings in Indonesia. Interested in joining us. We are looking for;
JOURNALIST
Scope of Works :
- CNN Indonesia is seeking a full time feature writer to join the Digital Newsroom. This role will drive the production of high-standard feature and news content for CNNIndonesia.com, working extensively with senior journalists. The position suits a proactive and intuitive journalist seeking to develop their online media career in branded partnership with one of the world’s biggest news companies. A strong candidate should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for feature writing, making news stories more universally appealing, and a good wider knowledge of global news and politics.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- The journalist will do the reportage, conduct the interview and craft it into a strong written story. Journalists will also perform research-based writing as assigned.
- Applicants must be proficient in writing articles that cover broad areas (politics, law & general news) and propose ways to pull together or link stories thematically and geographically to add depth to coverage of issues.
Qualifications :
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in any background
- Fresh Graduates/Entry Level applicants are encouraged to apply.
- Requires an able writer of accessible, engaging, accurate copy who can produce quality content to deadline. Experience in Campus Press/Student Media is strongly desired.
- Must have a strong curiosity for news, politics & law, understanding of current events and knowledge of world geography.
- Excellent command of spoken and written Englishand Bahasa Indonesia, other native language experience will be an advantage
- Social Media and online media savvy.
- Must show initiative, self-motivation and work well under pressure and/or in a fast paced environment.
EXECUTIVE ADMIN ASSISTANT
Scope of Works :
- The ideal candidate will support the Editor in Chief by providing administrative support. They will be responsible for maintaining the flow of information between development and other departments within the division as well as fostering network relationships with other companies and organizations. The person in this position will need to handle many sensitive documents and must be trusted with confidentiality. They will also coordinate and schedule a high volume of meetings on a regular basis and be responsible for general clerical duties.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Handle administrative tasks for the Editor in Chief (provide administrative and clerical assistance)
- Arrange and handle the logistics of regular and extraordinary meetings, create memorandums, prepare presentation materials based on verbal instructions and rough outline and also do the filing and preparation of documents for the newsroom.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, gathering and researching information, coordinating meetings, preparing notes, performing data entry, and other special projects as needed.
Qualifications :
- Must possess at least Bachelor Degree or Associate Degree in Secretarial or equivalent
- Proficiency in English is a critical requirement for the job
- The applicants must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Have the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism
- At least have 1-2 years of working experience in the related field.
- Must be exceedingly well organized, with proven ability to multi-task
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
- Candidates must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point) and also able to work well under pressure, multitask with efficiency and well- organized

WRITER (SR. JOURNALIST)
Scope of Works :
- CNN Indonesia is seeking a full time Writer to join the Digital Newsroom. This role will be responsible for finding and disseminating stories for domestic newsgathering by way of traditional and new media platforms (including social media) which can drive the production of high-standard feature and news content for CNNindonesia.com. The selected candidate will foster internal relationships with their counterparts on various Transmedia platforms (CNN Indonesia, TransTV, Trans7), and also foster and develop external relationships with contacts essential to newsgathering.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Gathering first-hand information on spot-news stories and in turn contributing that information to the Transmedia Wire.
- Finding stories and determining if they rise to the level of network news standards and also classify which networkor platform would be best suited for a particular story.
- The writer will do the reportage, conduct interviews and craft them into strong written stories, and also perform research-based writing as assigned.

Web Programmer
Scope of Works :
- Web programmers are responsible for converting a software program design into a set of instructions that computers can follow. This requires proficiency in a variety of common programming languages. The position requires a technology-savvy professional who is able to work in a small-group team setting and also communicate and collaborate cross-function with the other divisions in the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Design and implement large scale and high performance Web 2.0 applications
- Responsible for keeping websites and computer programs operating properly
- Must direct a team of developers on software development, helping to launch new programs in order to fulfill the needs of the business.
- Web Programmers may define the software framework from existing software technologies as well as from scratch.
Qualifications :
- Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, must have a basic technical knowledge of Web Programming and have strong object-oriented programming experience with PHP & Java Script.
- Must be familiar with Linux Operation, W3C Standard, website technology update and have knowledge in programming languages and environments including CSS, HTML, XML, and Json (understanding Java Script, AJAX, Action Script and Ruby will be an advantage).
- Having technical knowledge of Source Code Management Revision Control such as Subversion, Git, etc.
- Preferably having 2 – 3 years of working experience in similar position
- Experienced in application & software development
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL databases
GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Scope of Works :
- The ideal candidate must have experience in developing concepts and art directing projects to support the newsroom show production. They must able to deliver and communicate their ideas into a beautiful, international-standard, on-air design which has informative content. The role requires creativity, organization, maturity and ability to meet specific deadlines under stressful “breaking news” production conditions. Candidates must also have the ability to work flexible hours as required within a 24/7 news environment.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Graphic Designer must prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information, instruction and materials in a production process in order to make it appropriate with the given design.
- Designers must be able to visualize a design brief in hard copy (printed), online, video, and other tools.
- Responsible for checking on production results to ensure the quality of the final on-air product is appropriate to the desired need. The Graphic Designer must contribute ideas to the team for every design and artwork project that others prepared.
- Effectively evaluate and manage time, resources and deadlines to produce desired products both individually and as part of a team.
- Candidate must possess at least an Associate Degree in Art/Graphic Design/Visual
- Communication Design/Creative Multimedia or equivalent
- Mastery of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe in Design and other design software
- Ability to produce Animated graphics will be an advantage
- Must be creative, a fast learner, self motivated and capable of working within a team (a good team player but also able to work independently). Must be willing to work hard and follow design for a corporation.
- Must have a strong curiosity for news, understanding of current events and knowledge of world geography.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and excellent command of spoken and written English & Bahasa Indonesia
